A: The Nimbus Crossbar is a camera support solution designed for handheld operating. It integrates with existing Ready Rig support vests and provides a single connection point for attaching camera payloads.

Q. If I own a Ready Rig vest, what do I buy?

A. If you already own a Ready Rig vest, all you need to buy is the Nimbus Crossbar Upgrade (SKU: RR-NCU) or the Nimbus Crossbar + VEGA v2 Upgrade Bundle. The upgrades come with everything you need to attach it to your existing Ready Rig vest. 

Q. What Ready Rig vests is the Nimbus Crossbar compatible with?

A. All of our vests, Ready Rig GS, Ready Rig GS + ProARm, and Ready Rig VEGA.

Q: How do I attach the Nimbus Crossbar to my camera or gimbal?

A: The Nimbus Crossbar comes with a versatile mounting solution to accommodate various camera and gimbal setups. Included in the kit is a ball attachment with both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads, which can be securely fastened to your top handle. Additionally, we provide a 3/8"-16 threaded strap that can be used to attach the Crossbar to any camera or gimbal top handle, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of equipment.

Q: Do I need tools to attach the Nimbus Crossbar to the Ready Rig?

A: No tools are required to attach the Nimbus Crossbar to your Ready Rig. The Crossbar comes equipped with the new Cobra Quick Release v2, featuring a NATO standard clamp. Simply slide the Crossbar onto the rail and clamp it down securely. As an added safety measure, we've designed the system with a physical spring lock, ensuring that your Crossbar remains firmly attached to the Ready Rig throughout your shoot.

Q: How do I install the Nimbus Crossbar onto my existing Ready Rig?

A: Installing the Nimbus Crossbar onto your existing Ready Rig is a simple and quick process that takes less than 5 minutes. First, remove the two Cobra Quick Releases on the ends of your rig's carbon fiber support arms. Then, replace them with the new Cobra Quick Release v2 that comes with the Nimbus Crossbar. We provide all the necessary hardware and tools for this installation, making it a hassle-free experience. Once you've attached the Cobra Quick Release v2, you're ready to shoot with your upgraded Ready Rig and Nimbus Crossbar setup.

Q: Are my original Universal Gimbal Straps compatible with the new Cobra Quick Release v2?

A: Yes, the new Cobra Quick Release v2 has been designed to maintain compatibility with your existing Universal Gimbal Straps and Ready Rig Quick Connect v2. This means that you can continue using your Universal Gimbal Straps with the updated Cobra Quick Release v2 without the need for any additional adapters or modifications. We understand the importance of backward compatibility and have ensured that the new Cobra Quick Release v2 seamlessly integrates with your existing accessories, making the transition to the Nimbus Crossbar setup as smooth as possible.

Q: Is there a weight minimum and maximum for the Ready Rig Nimbus Kit?

A: The weight capacity of the Ready Rig Nimbus Kit depends on the specific configuration you are using. All systems have a minimum weight of 2.2 lbs (1kg).  When paired with the Ready Rig GS + ProArm or the Ready Rig VEGA, the system can support camera payloads up to 40 lbs (18.1 kg). However, if you are using the standard Ready Rig GS, the maximum weight capacity is 30 lbs (13.6 kg).

Q: Does the Crossbar work with my existing Ready Rig support vest?

A: Yes, the Nimbus Crossbar is designed to integrate seamlessly with Ready Rig support vests.

Q: How does the independent monitor mount benefit my filming?

A: The independent monitor mount keeps the monitor in your eyeline, allowing you to position 

the camera freely without losing sight of your framing. This enables seamless transitions between shots and uninterrupted complex sequences.

A: The top of the Crossbar features ARRI standard 3/8-16" and 1/4-20" threaded holes with anti-rotation features. We've also added NATO standard mounting brackets, which allow you to place a monitor anywhere you want on the Crossbar.

Q: How quickly can I set up the Nimbus Crossbar?

A: The Crossbar features a lightning-fast setup process. You can attach it to your Ready Rig vest, balance the payload, and be ready to shoot in seconds.

A: Every Nimbus Crossbar comes with a new redesigned Cobra Quick Release system featuring a NATO rail standard design. To attach it, simply change out the old Cobra Quick Releases on your Ready Rig vest with the included Cobra Quick Release v2, and the Crossbar will securely connect to the vest.

Q: Can I change the length of the rope on the crossbar?
