How to Install the Ready Rig Lumbar Support Upgrade
Installing the Lumbar Support Upgrade is quick and improves comfort during long shoots. Follow these simple steps to install it properly.
What you’ll need:
A small hex tool (or any slim tool) to help start the zipper
Your Ready Rig GS Vest
Lumbar Support Upgrade Kit (includes lumbar pad and pump)
Step 1: Open the zipper
At the base of the vest padding, locate the zipper. Sometimes the zipper tab is tucked in. Use a small hex tool or similar object to gently insert into the zipper area and pull the tab out. This helps you get the zipper started. Open the zipper fully.
Step 2: Lay out the lumbar pad
Place the lumbar support so that the air tube exits from the end of the zipper that will zip last (the end that finishes the closure). This will make sure the pump tube ends up in the correct position once zipped.
Step 3: Insert the lumbar pad
Lift the foam inside the back pad of the vest. Fold the lumbar support slightly with your hands and slide it upward behind the foam. Use your hands to push it up and guide it into place.
Step 4: Position the pad
Make sure the pad is centered and sitting at the widest part of the back pad—this is where your lumbar curve will get the most support.
Step 5: Close the zipper
Zip the compartment closed. If the tab is hard to grab, you can use the hex tool again to help finish closing it.
Step 6: Secure the pump
This is a critical step that is often missed. Use the Velcro tab on the pump tubing to wrap it around one of the shoulder straps. This keeps the pump secured and prevents it from moving or hanging loose during use.
You’re done. The lumbar support is now installed and ready to go.
